This Beginner Backbends Balance Free Yoga Podcast will be appropriate for almost every body. You will need a strap, belt or leash of some kind, as well as a yoga block or a sturdy stack of books 6 – 10 ” tall. Even a few stacked tin cans of beans would work to help you balance 😉 After a brief warm-up done on your back, you will be introduced to posture-improving gentle backbends, including bridge pose. We review Garudasana (Eagle Pose) and variations (see pictures here) which is a balance pose and practice pranyama in the form of Alternate Nostril Breathing (Nadi Shodana or Channel Purification)
